Landscape boundary work

Sometimes it is neccessary to shore up landscape features that intrude on the deck surface or create a maintenance problem now and in the future. Here is an example of when that was done:

Here is the offending area where the mountain had crept down on top of the deck literally covering the deck in dirt and leaves:

First we excavated the area:

Then we filled it with rock:

Then we were able to fully sand the area and reclaim that space as part of the deck:
