As redwood ages, it expels impurities from within creating a hard, grayish surface. This layer runs deeper in areas that have been directly exposed than in those that have been covered with a stain or paint. This creates an uneven and reactive "canvas" for high quality oils like the ones we use. In order to neutralize this palette both chemically and aesthetically we apply an oxalic acid solution as the last phase in preparation. This evens up the color by toning down the darker colors and gives us a "whiter" canvas to work with. Tints Our products come in various
